CCFFV23 / Standard for fresh dates will have significant impact for producers
In February this year, the Codex Committee on Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (CCFFV) completed their wlork on a standard for fresh dates and has forwarded the text to the Codex Alimentarius Commission for final adoption. Nigeria NCC meets for training and discussions
Nigeria's Codex Contact Point convened a training programme for new National Codex Committee (NCC) members on understanding the structure and functioning of Codex. This was followed by the 3rd quarter, 2025 NCC meeting as scheduled in the NCC 2025 meetings work plan.
The first day of the two-day programme included the training of NCC members on theoretical and practical sessions, covering important aspects to increase their knowledge and skills required to effectively contribute to Codex work.

CTF/ Zambian national stakeholders trained in Codex electronic working tools
Zambia, with support from the Codex Trust Fund and African Union Inter-African Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR), held a hands-on training 29-31 July 2025, in Livingstone, Zambia, to equip national key stakeholders and experts with practical knowledge and skills on Codex procedures and the use and application of electronic working tools.

World Food Safety Day / Saudi Arabia reiterates importance of science
On World Food Safety Day, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) joined international organizations dedicated to food safety in commemorating the Day under the theme "Food Safety: Science in Action."

CTF / Regional training of trainers on Codex, data generation and submission for standards setting
A regional East African Community (EAC) Training of Trainers (ToT) session on data generation to support Codex standards setting activities was held in Zanzibar, Tanzania, 23–25 July 2025. The event was supported by the Codex Trust Fund group project as well as the EAC Market Access Upgrade Programme (MARKUP II), which is implemented through the International Trade Centre.

ACT / Cambodia charts a path forward to reduce antimicrobial use through improved animal nutrition

World Food Safety Day / ACT in Nepal

World Food Safety Day / ACT in Mongolia
In Mongolia, the Action to support implementation of Codex AMR texts (ACT) project supported national celebrations of World Food Safety Day in several ways. On 20 May, the ACT team in the country conducted training on Codex and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) for students at the Food Technology Institute.
