There are two ways to locate an existing UEI or entity registration in SAM.gov. If you have a role with an entity, the easiest way to find the entity’s Unique Entity ID is on your Workspace. If you do not have a role with an entity, you can use the main search to find the entity.
Note: Entities that have opted out of public search are only viewable by federal users and users who have a role with the entity. If you need to access to the entity, you will either need to request a role (KB0016602) from an existing administrator or submit an Entity Administrator Appointment Letter (KB0016652) if no administrator is available.
To locate an entity from your Workspace:
- Log in to SAM.gov and locate your Workspace in the top right corner.
- Select the title of the Entities widget to view all of your registrations or select the number above the status that correlates with your current registration status
- The entity's basic information will be displayed. To view a summary of your entire registration, select View.
To locate an entity using General Search:
- After signing in, Select Search from the header menu.

- Select All Domains and choose Entity Information.
- Select Entities underneath to narrow your search.

- Scroll to the bottom of this filter list and locate the filter for Entity Status. Check each box to ensure all registration options populate properly during the search results. (Active, Inactive, ID assigned, etc.)

- Enter the Unique Entity ID, CAGE, or legal business name (punctuations included, if any) into the Keyword search box above the filters or use any of the filters listed in order to narrow your search.
