About GATE
Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers (GATE) is a national-level exam that evaluates full knowledge of multiple undergraduate topics in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, and the arts. The GATE 2025 exam is set to be a computer-based examination (CBE) and is being conducted by IIT Roorkee.
The qualification required for admission or financial assistance to Master's degrees and doctoral programs in engineering, technology, and architecture, as well as Doctoral programs among relevant branches of the arts and sciences, at institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies.
Additionally, in a few universities and institutes that enroll students who do not have an MoE scholarship or assistantship, the GATE score is required. Furthermore, several public sector organizations use the GATE result in their recruitment procedures.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates can apply for the GATE 2025 exam if they are enrolled in their third or higher year of any undergraduate program or if they have already finished any government-approved bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, or the arts.
