Your stakeholders doubt your testing results. How can you regain their trust?

To win back trust when stakeholders question your testing results, transparency and a methodical approach are key. Here's how to rebuild credibility:

- Share detailed methodologies. Clearly outline how tests were conducted to eliminate doubts about the process.

- Provide raw data and analytics. Give stakeholders access to the raw data and explain the analytics behind your results.

- Invite independent verification. Consider third-party audits or peer reviews to underscore the reliability of your findings.

How might you approach regaining stakeholder trust in different scenarios?

According to my experience in quality assurance, regaining stakeholder confidence when there are doubts about test results involves transparency, clear communication, and a commitment to accountability. In one instance, we faced skepticism about a batch’s test results. I organized a thorough review of the testing process, shared detailed reports, and even proposed additional testing to verify the results. By involving stakeholders in the process and showing our commitment to maintaining the highest standards, we regained their trust and ensured alignment moving forward.

We can share the rest artifacts as well with the results so they can go through those as well. In addition to that if need we can have a meeting so we can give them a clear explanation about the artifacts and results. Also they can ask and clarify all the doubts they have too. Last but not the least, some third party like another engineer from another project can review our work and share their ideas as well.
