As a recruiter working on various telecom roles, I’ve found that managing remote teams can be increasingly complex. Managing remote telecom teams requires the right tools to stay organized and efficient. Trello and Asana help organize tasks and timelines, while Slack ensures quick, organized communication. Monday.com offers flexible project tracking, and Jira is great for technical teams managing issues and sprints. Miro supports collaborative planning, and Notion centralizes knowledge sharing. Finally, Zoom or Microsoft Teams handle virtual meetings and real-time collaboration. Using these tools together ensures smooth project management and clear communication.

As I support domestic design led players in India, there are requirements for VC meetings at short notices and domestic designed VC solutions from Coral Telecom and CDOT are very useful and many times 50 to 60 participants are able to join after invite links are shared. ONLINE Google Spread Sheets also are very useful. Normally, the submission of desired inputs is a slow starter but once there are few entries in the online SpreadSheets and status is reported, momentum is there and one an get excellent results in a few hours time. The entire process we have just completed with 75+ responses for a pre bid queries on BSNL 5G tender, where pre bid meeting is scheduled for 21st November 2024. Technology gives many options and best results.

Managing remote telecom teams requires the right tools and strategies to ensure seamless collaboration, with a strong emphasis on effective communication. For daily updates, a dedicated WhatsApp project group can be used to share end-of-day progress reports and outline the next day's planned actions, ensuring everyone stays informed and aligned. In addition, scheduling weekly online meetings via Microsoft Teams or Zoom allows for more detailed discussions, progress reviews, and issue resolution. It is essential to establish a clear, detailed plan with well-defined deadlines and regular progress tracking. Sharing a daily master database via email ensures transparency and keeps all team members updated on critical information.

One thing I found helpful was Microsoft Teams which truly allowed for full collaboration. Even though sometimes challenging keeping Salesforce up to date allows for up to date reporting together with BI Reports for monitoring targets. Check Ins with line managers via teams helps alot.

This is a major problem for any team, but more specifically, remote teams. Lack of unified tools pushed us to create our own. We forbid team members from using google docs or external tools in order to unify all of our communications within the all-in-one platform we have created. In addition to Utiliko, we use Skype for audio/video calls and screen sharing.
