American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) reposted this Earlier this year, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) launched the “How I Champion Respectful Care” webinar series to spotlight health care professionals who are leading with empathy, equity, and intention. The series continues this November with new voices and new stories, each one a powerful reminder of what it means to truly center patients. This series features ob-gyns and policy analysts with deep expertise in: -- Combating mis- and disinformation using social media -- Promoting culturally responsive policies to ensure access to reproductive care -- Amplifying best practices in research to provide in-depth perspectives on equity and care These are not just webinars. These are conversations that challenge us to think differently, act boldly, and lead with empathy. Each session offers practical insights and personal stories that inspire change. You do not want to miss either of these sessions. I hope you will join me in watching, sharing, and applying what we learn, because every patient deserves care that is respectful, informed, and equitable. The order is an unnecessary and harmful intrusion into the patient–physician relationship, an infringement upon doctors’ First Amendment rights, and a potentially dire blow to the more than one million Oklahomans who rely on state Medicaid. This RSV season, take the time to counsel your pregnant patients about RSV and the risk of infection to their newborns and young infants. Let your patients know that ACOG recommends all infants be protected from severe RSV by either the maternal RSV vaccine or a monoclonal antibody for the RSV season. Both the maternal vaccine and the antibody are safe and effective interventions for RSV prevention in infants.
