Pre-commit CI for Apache Cassandra is now available for our non-affiliated contributors+committers https://lnkd.in/d5v2_4AK Thanks to a generous AWS credits donation from Amazon we now have a fast pre-commit CI platform. And built on a cool K8s Helm Jenkins setup on auto-scaling node groups. Why this matters: pre-commit CI has long been a hurdle for our unaffiliated contributors. The project has long had its momentum weighted by contributors who are employed full time to work on the project. For OSS we know, this is not the way. Open source is about accessibility to all. With this setup, you can now also immutably provision a clone of our full CI system on any Kubernetes cluster, avoid any babysitting ops of Jenkins, and run the full “post-commit” pipeline (≈140–200k tests) yourself. And it's all based on open source technologies: previously many non-affiliated contributors were having to rely on CircleCI, but here we have proven you can get the same CI pipeline completion times for >10× lower cost solely just with Open Source.
