Planted forests, such as eucalyptus and pine, play an important role in environmental recovery. When well managed, they help restore degraded soils, protect water resources, and even stimulate the return of biodiversity. They can be part of a more sustainable future in the forestry sector. 🌱 Here at ArborGen, we believe that each seedling can deliver more than productivity: it generates a positive impact for the environment and for those who plant. ➡️ Swipe and learn how this is possible. #ArborGen #ArborGenBrasil #Forestry #TreeGenetics #InvestingInGrowth #SustainableForestry #Silviculture

When people think of wetlands or bottomland hardwoods, they often think of oaks. However, other species such as Bald Cypress are also common in these wetter areas of the Southeast. Bald Cypress is a well-known species that grows close to the water’s edge and is recognized for producing the distinctive “cypress knees” that people enjoy seeing. Here is a prime example of a very old and large Bald Cypress growing just behind ArborGen’s Bellamy Seed Orchard. While Bald Cypress lumber is used in many different products, this particular tree passed its prime years ago, likely due to storm and beaver damage. At ArborGen, we produce Bald Cypress seedlings along with many other hardwood species for planting in these sensitive areas. Please contact your local ArborGen Reforestation Advisor for more information about our seedlings, or visit www.arborgen.com.

🌲 The Value of Rouging in Seed Orchards🌲 At Bellamy Seed Orchard, rouging plays a key role in orchard management. By selectively removing trees, we reduce crowding, increase sunlight for healthier cone production, and improve the overall genetic gain of open-pollinated seed. This ensures superior pollen has a greater chance of producing the next generation of stronger, higher-quality seedlings.
