The Asian Studies Conference of Australia biennial conference will be at Deakin University, Geelong campus in Victoria next year, 29 June- 2 July 2026. It would be great to have a strong mainland SE Asia presence. If you are a scholar of mainland Southeast Asia and would like to be part of an AMSEAS mainland Southeast Asia panel drop us a line!!! We'll try to organise a panel submission. But you will need to be quick, as paper and panel submissions close 7 November. Promoting and advancing research relevant to Mainland Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam
About us
The Association of Mainland Southeast Asia Scholars (AMSEAS) is a sub-regionally focused academic association affiliated with the Asian Studies Association of Australia (ASAA). AMSEAS seeks to provide new opportunities for the promotion and advancement of research relevant to the countries of Mainland Southeast Asia: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Recognising the benefits of adopting a multidisciplinary approach and encouraging dialogue between scholars of the individual countries, we promote and support the study of Mainland Southeast Asia in Australian and New Zealand universities, as well as working to enhance public knowledge of the region.
