Meet Darrin Jainlett, a Navy veteran who found his fit at CarMax through our Military Automotive Technician Academy (MATA). After a decade of service, he transitioned into the automotive world, where he says CarMax's MATA program not only provided valuable hands-on experience but also eased his transition to civilian life. Today, Darrin is working as a Mechanical Associate 3 at CarMax’s Midlothian, TX, reconditioning center. We're proud to support Darrin and veterans like him to build rewarding careers. At CarMax, June is a month of purpose and pride. Associates across the country are donating their time and talents to causes important to them during CarMax Cares Month. Our Palm Desert team recently volunteered with The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert’s Food Bank, inspired by CarMax former associate, Stuart Huggins, who is now their director. The team packed and distributed food to local residents in need. “There is a large LGBTQ+ population in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley, so these services are so important," shared Tim Haskell, CarMax customer service specialist. “It was one of the largest employee participation events we’ve done, and I'm so proud of the team! Thank you, Palm Desert crew, for leading with heart! 💛
