About us
Cascade Bicycle Club, the nation’s largest statewide bicycle organization, is powered by 9,000 members and serves bike riders of all ages and abilities throughout the Puget Sound region and across Washington state. We teach the joys of bicycling, advocate for safe places to ride, and produce world-class rides and events. Our signature programs include the Seattle to Portland, Free Group Rides, the Advocacy Leadership Institute, the Bike Walk Roll Summit, Let's Go, and the Major Taylor Project. We envision a safe and healthy future where bicycles bring people together, eliminate inequity, and create thriving communities. Cascade Bicycle Club brings people together to experience the joy of bicycling through transportation, recreation, and friendship. We collaborate with members, volunteers, and community partners to inspire people to advocate for a safe, equitable, and sustainable Washington state. We build confidence, leadership, knowledge, and community by teaching bicycle skills to all ages.

We had a great time with our friend Ray Delahanty before a sold-out crowd at Town Hall Seattle last night. What an amazing venue. Thanks Cascade Bicycle Club for hosting us and to everyone who came, asked questions, and bought a copy of Life After Cars. We have one more event today before heading to Vancouver, BC this weekend.

The skinny and sketchy old bridge on the Elliott Bay Trail through the Port of Seattle's T91 terminal has been demolished and replaced with 900 feet of smooth black pavement. It's a small amount of trail but a huge improvement in the rideability, walkability, and ongoing beautification of what may be Seattle's most beautiful trail--the Elliott Bay Trail that spans the city's waterfront from north to south. Thank you Port of Seattle and Fred Felleman for inviting Cascade along for a sneak peak of what is indeed a Smoother Ride for users of Seattle's growing bike network. Go ride it! https://lnkd.in/giMX_TxT

Cascade Bicycle Club's award-winning Pedaling Relief Project, which uses bicycles to rescue and deliver food in support of multiple Seattle food banks, is proud to partner with the University of Washington and its Urban Freight Lab to launch the nation's first connected network of community micro-pantries. Read the UW press release below. "Distributing food through micro-pantries is one more way that we can alleviate food insecurity. Food banks are struggling to meet rising demand, and Cascade hopes that participating in this National Science Foundation research project will lead to findings and solutions that help us combat food insecurity both in Seattle and across the nation," says Landon Coates Welsh, Cascade's Pedaling Relief Project Manager. "Food banks are struggling to meet demand due to rising food insecurity in a time of federal funding cuts, job losses and economic uncertainty." https://lnkd.in/gGicsQi2

Started in 2015, this multi-day event convenes decision-makers, implementers, and advocates to share and advance ideas that make biking, walking, and rolling safer and accessible for all. This year’s Summit theme is “Design the Future We Want,” and will showcase expert guidance and best practices on how to recreate our streets and keep up with popular demand for bike, walk, and roll options. https://lnkd.in/gNpjsNcq
