Last night was the 15th anniversary of Maryland Family Network, which aims to ensure that all young children and their families have the resources to learn and succeed. Catholic Charities partners with Maryland Family Network for Early Head Start and other initiatives. Catholic Charities of Baltimore reposted this
Yesterday evening, Maddy A. ’26, Reagan F. ’26, and Grace W. ’26 attended “Journey to Social Justice—A Conversation with Fr. Greg Boyle. S. J.,” an event sponsored by Catholic Charities of Baltimore. Fr. Boyle shared from his book, “Cherished Belonging: The Healing Power of Love in Divided Times,” and spoke about his time leading Homeboy Industries, a ministry that assists with rehabilitation, intervention, and reentry after incarceration. Many thanks to Ms. Eileen Phelps for organizing this trip for our Mercy Girls!

For 60 years, Head Start has been a vital program across the country for early childhood education, but if the government shutdown continues to drag on, those Head Start services could go away.
