💊 What if AI could support a more effective delivery of essential medicines? Access to essential medicines remains one of the most pressing challenges in global health. Across many low- and middle-income countries, treatments for conditions such as epilepsy, schizophrenia and dementia are often unavailable, even when they are affordable and clinically effective. The Oxford Martin Programme on Equitable Allocation of Medicines is developing new digital tools that use real-time data and AI-powered forecasting to improve the delivery and planning of essential medicines. Working with partners in Zimbabwe, the programme is piloting this approach to strengthen supply systems for mental and neurological health with potential to expand across other health areas and regions. 📄 Read more about how this work is helping to make access to medicines more reliable and equitable below.
