Today we recognize the crucial role fertilizer plays in feeding the world. Put simply, ammonia is one of the most important chemical compounds on earth. The primary use of ammonia and its derivative products today — and the focus of our business for nearly 80 years — is fertilizer. The nitrogen content in these products is critical to provide energy to crops. Today, we’re pleased to announce a shipment of certified low-carbon ammonia from our Donaldsonville, Louisiana facility. Trafigura, a market leader in the global commodities industry, purchased the ammonia for shipment to Envalior, a global leader in Engineering Materials, who will use it for the production of low-carbon caprolactam. “We are proud to partner with industry leaders Trafigura and Envalior as we work together to develop a low-carbon ammonia supply chain in advance of the implementation of the European Union’s carbon border adjustment mechanism,” said Bert Frost, executive vice president, sales, market development and supply chain at CF Industries. “We also are pleased to reach an important milestone for CF Industries by delivering our first low-carbon premium offering to Europe.” Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/ePK8sCj9
