Yet across the U.S., many communities face challenges with water quantity and infrastructure. • We take protecting your drinking water seriously. 🌱 Our Source Water Protection Program partners with farmers, industries, and local groups to reduce nitrates, improve soil health, and keep our river, and your water clean. 💧 Protecting source water is a team effort! 👏 Here are three simple ways you can help keep Cedar Rapids’ water clean: 1️⃣ Dispose of household chemicals safely. 2️⃣ Pick up pet waste. 3️⃣ Limit fertilizer use on your lawn. Together, we can keep our water clean for generations to come! 💙

  • 🌊Cedar Rapids doesn’t pull water straight from the Cedar River, we use alluvial aquifers located along the riverbank! 🌿🪨 These wells naturally filter river water through sand and gravel before it even reaches our treatment plant, giving us a head start on providing you with safe, great-tasting water. 💧
