At #ClimateWeekNYC, BCSE brought together leading experts in finance and energy to explore the current state of play for investors, lenders, and corporations to influence the future of America's energy expansion.
Global investment in the energy transition hit a record high of $2.1 trillion in 2024, climbing 11% from the previous year. Last year, renewable energy investment in the United States was over $330 billion, but still only half that of China’s investment. As policy winds continue to shift, it falls to investors and developers to set the pace for long-term investment in America’s energy future.
Participants agreed that investments in renewables, power grids, and supply chains are now an undeniable economic driver. At the same time, the projected massive increase in energy demand from electrification -- including AI, data centers, and transportation electrification -- means transition finance is poised to capture strong investment opportunities and bolster diversified portfolios.
