Today I was honored to join my CleanCapital team in cutting the ribbon for a new 3.59 MW brownfield solar project in my hometown of Buffalo. Situated just north of the Buffalo River on an 11-acre site formerly used as part of an ExxonMobil tank farm, this solar project transformed the capped and lined brownfield adjacent to a water treatment facility into a productive energy asset for the City of Buffalo. Now that it is operational it provides emissions-free energy to more than 300 local National Grid customers, many of them low-income. This project exemplifies CleanCapital's mission: a triple-bottom line investment that produces clean, renewable energy; enhances affordability for the local community; and productively reuses polluted land.
