Climate Solutions reposted this Commerce powers up a fast EV charger, in Eastern Washington! 🔋 Colville is now home to a fast-charging site, funded by the Climate Commitment Act. It closes a 20-mile gap along US-395 and expands reliable charging across the region. Thanks to the partnership of Commerce, Avista, and the City of Colville, Washington, with 47% of funding from the CCA, the project was completed in less than 12 months — about 9 months ahead of schedule! A big step toward cleaner, more affordable driving in Eastern WA.

New funding from the City of Seattle will support the electrification of short-haul trucking at the Port of Seattle. Diesel fumes from idling trucks are a significant health hazard for local communities as well as contributing to climate change. https://lnkd.in/gCM8z-pY

Climate Solutions reposted this This is how the Pacific NW continues to lead in the era of Trump rollbacks- a race to the top where Oregon and Washington’s leadership push each other to unleash affordable, abundant renewable energy with urgency. This clean energy leadership creates good local jobs, keeps energy bills lower, and ensures our region is more independent & resilient. Thank you Governor Tina Kotek 👏 Just south of our border, a powerful signal was sent. Oregon Governor Tina Kotek, seeing a critical opportunity, signed an executive order to accelerate the siting and permitting of renewable energy projects. She joins leaders in California who have taken bold steps to clear the path for their clean energy future. Right now, Washington risks being left behind and losing out on clean energy incentives. We have some of the most ambitious climate goals in the nation, but our good intentions are getting stuck in a bureaucratic maze. Leadership is happening all around us. Oregon and California are proving that progressive policies can work and deliver real results. They understand that you cannot achieve ambitious climate goals without actually building the things that will get you there. That is why Climate Jobs Washington is calling on Governor Bob Ferguson to take immediate, decisive action. We urge him to follow the lead of our West Coast allies and issue an executive order to streamline the siting and permitting of utility-scale wind and solar projects in Washington that could qualify for the sunsetting federal tax incentives. We need our state agencies coordinated and directed to make these projects a priority, removing any barriers that they can and ensuring as many projects as possible make the July 2026 deadline. The time for waiting is over. Governor Ferguson, it’s time to lead. Let’s put Washington to work. Time Lapse Build: https://lnkd.in/gDefuHec

Washington and Oregon are among two dozen states suing the federal administration over the termination of a program making affordable solar energy available in low-income communities https://lnkd.in/epBjHNqs

If fossil gas prices are going down, why are household gas bills going up? Because customers are paying more for infrastructure, construction, utility costs and taxes than they are for the actual fuel. https://lnkd.in/ekfkubbp

“With the elimination of promised incentives by the Trump Administration, states must step up as the last line of defense against climate catastrophe. We have to get renewable energy infrastructure built, and quickly,” — Gov. Kotek https://lnkd.in/gQhcmkgE
