    CEO, General Catalyst

Today, we are launching Percepta to accelerate the diffusion of AI into enterprises worldwide. This is our newest arm of General Catalyst, complementing our venture business, HATCo, and GC Wealth. Every enterprise knows AI will rewrite their industry. Most are still stuck in pilots and unrealized outcomes. That’s about to change. Percepta, led by Hirsh Jain as CEO, is built to synchronize the four necessary components of AI business transformation: 🟣 Intelligence layer: Percepta’s frontier research lab combines LLMs, reinforcement learning, traditional optimization, and more. 🟣Data readiness: Helping organizations harness the data they already have, including the data that AI agents are generating, to ensure AI systems are in fact driving better decision-making. 🟣Workforce transformation: Equipping teams and redesigning workflows so human and AI agents can collaborate productively and responsibly. 🟣 Courage and vision at the top: Percepta only works with enterprises where the CEO and leadership buy-in is clear. As I’ve often said, transformations require more than a single company. Pecepta’s approach involves deep partnerships with Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, and our companies focused on data infrastructure and AI roll-ups. We have put together an incredible team of experts in frontier research, enterprise infrastructure, product, and forward-deployed engineering. The founders include Hirsh Jain, Thomas Mathew, Athul Paul Jacob, Radha Jain, Michael Rochlin, and Costis Daskalakis. We are rapidly scaling our engineering team and interested in top tier applied AI talent: https://lnkd.in/g2zh7Yqy Percepta can create distribution advantage opportunities for our founders and other businesses. We are focused on driving real use cases at scale in the enterprise, and leveraging that expertise to help grow our companies with real-world experience in applied AI. The team is off to a great start, already serving customers across global financial services, government, industrials, and healthcare enterprises. We’re living in a time when every company in every industry in every country is figuring out how to adopt AI. At Percepta, we have the opportunity to build a category-defining applied AI company. Come build with us. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gWA3cWfw

  • Just 24 months into the life of Collective Global, we could not be more proud of our “chosen family” reunion this week in Stockholm. Thank you to our terrific strategic partners like Paul Fielding of General Catalyst, Chris Olsen of Drive Capital, and Patrick Finnegan of Second Sight Ventures. Thank you to the inspiring CEOs leading breakthrough portfolio companies, like Geoffrey von Maltzahn of Lila Sciences. And to our brilliant Board Partners like The Hon. Julia Gillard AC and Alec Ross. Most of all, thank you to our magnificent investors, chaired by the incomparable Molly Murphy of OCERS, who led a stirring conversation that wove together insights from likeminded institutions from Australia to Japan, California to New York, and Sweden to Monaco. Truly inspired by the innovation economy and the vision, positivity, and camaraderie of our consortium.

🧠"We no longer need to compartmentalize science... instead we can build a single kind of mind that can operate across an immense diversity of scientific fields and pull new knowledge into that single mastery of the way that the world around us works. We believe this is going to open up incredible frontiers in medicine, energy, new climate technologies and a lot more."   Our Co-founder & CEO Geoffrey von Maltzahn joined Caroline Hyde and Edward Ludlow live on Bloomberg Television to share how our Series A fundraise is fueling our mission to build scientific superintelligence to solve humankind's greatest challenges. 🚀 Major milestone moment: We’ve raised a $235M Series A, co-led by Braidwell and Collective Global Management with additional support from Altitude Life Science Ventures, ARK Investment Management LLC, Alumni Ventures, Common Metal, Flagship Pioneering, General Catalyst, March Capital, The Mathers Foundation, Modi Ventures, NGS Super, State of Michigan Retirement System, and a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). This marks the next chapter for our team in building the world’s first scientific superintelligence platform to enable breakthroughs in life, chemical, and materials sciences at scale and speed. As our CEO and Co-founder Geoffrey von Maltzahn puts it:   “At Lila, we believe science is the most inspiring frontier for AI. This financing comes from partners who share that belief—and it’s a commitment from us to turn it into reality. Our goal is simple: increase the intelligence, scale, and speed of science so humankind can experience life-changing benefits derived from artificial intelligence.” 📣 If the idea of building scientific superintelligence excites you, come build with us. We’re seeking extraordinary, driven people across AI research, software, robotics, biology, chemistry, materials science, and operations. bit.ly/LilaCareers #ScientificSuperintelligence #AI #Innovation #Hiring #Startups

  • Collective Global is thrilled to co-lead the Lila Sciences Series A, working with their visionary team and our strategic partners at General Catalyst. Think of Lila as an AI scientist building IP factories in every critical research area. Nature’s technology is exceptionally complex — what we know already is just scratching the surface. So science is a perfect focus area for AI, and especially the combination of AI, human scientists, and robotics. Lila is fundamentally about building and applying future data sets for the benefit of humankind — including our many pension, sovereign, and institutional client bases around the world. https://lnkd.in/eTRaNwHc

  • Collective Global is thrilled to welcome Henrik Nordlander as a Partner. Henrik will lead GP staking partnerships with top venture and growth firms globally. Henrik joins Collective from the Third Swedish National Pension Fund (AP3) where he most recently was Co-Head of Alternative Investments and led global private equity strategies, deploying more than $4 billion into 100+ fund investments and direct investments as well as overseeing circa $19 billion in total AUM across several illiquid asset classes, including venture capital and growth equity. Welcome Henrik!

Managing Director and Head of Europe at General Catalyst / Founding Partner of La Famiglia VC

Founding isn’t a straight line. The magic happens in the messy middle, where everything could tilt either way, and every choice counts. This uncertainty is part of the fabric of reality, so much of founding is about embracing the unknown and the potential that lies in every fork in the road. There’s also freedom in letting go of rigid ideas. Sometimes, “our expectations limit us more than the world itself“, as the Nobel prize winner Anton Zeilinger would put it. Like a photon at a half-silvered mirror, we can’t always predict which path will open, but we do know that randomness and openness are built into the process.   If science shows us anything, it’s that there are no fixed blueprints: freedom and curiosity go hand in hand, and sometimes the best answers come when we allow things to unfold naturally.   At General Catalyst Seed, we stand by founders in the messy middle as we are founders by ourselves. Trusting in their vision, fostering bold ideas, and sharing the freedom to adapt as new possibilities emerge. Relationships thrive not on control, but on a shared willingness to let things unfold – knowing that true breakthroughs and lasting value are often born from embracing randomness, nurturing trust, and navigating the journey together.   I’m deeply grateful to work alongside partners who understand this jazz-like dance of founders’ journeys:   Neeraj Arora built Venture Highway into one of India’s most respected seed firms, long before the ecosystem had the scale it has today. Now he helps our GC founders access cross-border talent, navigate global markets, and stay anchored in what matters most.   Yuri Sagalov is a seasoned expert who’s lived every phase of the startup journey, from technical founder to backing legendary teams at Y Combinator and Wayfinder.   If you’re building through uncertainty or in the thick of it and want to talk, I’d love to hear what you’re working on. We’re here for the long haul. Torsten Reil, Arthur Mensch, Qasar Younis, your paths, like those of so many others, keep reminding us what this journey can become. 👉 Find more on GC Seed in the comments. #GCSeed #FounderFirst

    Marketing at Drive

"No asterisks." That's our mantra. We don't want to be the best vc firm 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘶𝘴 or 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘩𝘪𝘰. We aren't aiming to be the best 𝘷𝘤 firm. We want to be the best investment firm in the world. Where do we believe the best place is to do that? Right here in Columbus. No asterisks. And say it with your chest. Last week Chris sat down with TC Editor in Chief, Connie Loizos, to give an update on Drive, how we view the world, and why Columbus and Ohio and the Midwest remain a great fit for what we're building.
