What the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department does is essential to the overall well-being of our residents. In addition to just being fun, our parks, programs and services give all of us a chance to improve our physical and mental health, to develop our youth, to focus on our environment, and to make a positive economic impact on our city. Our mission is to connect the people of our community through the power of nature, wellness and creativity.

Fresh Produce: Every Thursday and Friday, stop by our Mobile Produce Market at select community centers through Nov. 21 to pick up fresh produce at no cost. No registration or paperwork required. Free Meals for Students: School-age children can also receive a free meal every weekday from 3:30–5 p.m. at our Afterschool Program sites. All are welcome. Participating community centers include Adams, Barack, Blackburn, Douglas, Driving Park, Far East, Glenwood, Holton, Howard, Linden, Milo-Grogan, Sullivant Gardens, Feddersen and Woodward Park community centers. At last night's council meeting, we welcomed youth from Columbus Recreation and Parks Department's Afterschool Recreation Club to celebrate the program's participation in Lights On Afterschool at COSI. For over a decade, CRPD has participated in Lights On, a national event highlighting how high-quality afterschool programs keep kids active, learning, and thriving. Every child deserves safe, enriching spaces to grow at the end of the school day. Thanks you CRPD ARC staff for all you do to make young lives better!
