Non-profit Organizations
Amplifies civil society voices within UHC2030 to ensure UHC policies are inclusive, equitable, and leave no one behind.
About us
UHC2030 is the movement to build stronger health systems for universal health coverage (UHC). With its Secretariat provided by the World Health Organization, the World Bank and the OECD, it provides a global platform for health advocates to work together to UHC by mobilizing political commitment, demanding and tracking accountability, and promoting collective action for health systems. The CSEM raises civil society voices within UHC2030 to ensure that UHC policies are inclusive and equitable, and that systematic attention is given to the most marginalized and vulnerable populations so that no one is left behind. We encourage all civil society advocates to integrate UHC advocacy to reduce fragmentation among health initiatives, promote stronger health systems, and encourage a human rights-based approach to health. Proud to announce that WACI Health with Executive Director Rosemary Mburu joined the Health Works Leaders Coalition, a new global alliance launched at the World Bank Annual Meetings this week. The Coalition brings together governments, civil society, global health agencies, and philanthropic partners to reimagine how we invest in health systems. This global alliance – launched by the World Bank Group, the Government of Japan, and the World Health Organization – aims to mobilize domestic and international investments, catalyse reform, and align partners behind scalable, government-led priorities. WACI Health continues to champion country-led, equity-driven health reforms and to amplify the understanding that investing in health is not only a moral imperative but also a powerful economic strategy. It creates jobs, protects the most vulnerable, strengthens communities, and builds resilient, prosperous futures. As a Health Works Leaders Coalition member, we stand with partners like The Global Fund, Wellcome Trust, Seed Global Health, The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Philippines, Sierra Leone, Saint Lucia, and the United Kingdom. At the launch, we were energised by the shared commitment to universal health coverage that is rooted in national ownership and inclusive accountability. These are values at the heart of our advocacy across Africa, ensuring that communities, civil society, and governments work together to deliver on the promise of health for all. The first set of National Health Compacts will be launched at UHC High-Level Forum in Tokyo this December. We look forward to working with the coalition partners on this important mission. 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eF7Dib8Y __ #UniversalHealthCoverage #HealthForAll #InvestInHealth #HealthWorks CSEM for UHC2030 - The Civil Society Engagement Mechanism for Universal Health Coverage | Peter Sands | John-Arne Røttingen | Vanessa Kerry, MD MSc | Austin Demby | Sania Nishtar | Bill Anderson | Dr. Jean Kaseya | Muhammad Ali Pate | Senait Fisseha, MD., JD | Doris Uzoka-Anite MD, CFA | Priya Basu | bonanza perwira taihitu | Daniella Foster | Mamta Murthi

A big thank you to CSEM for UHC2030 - The Civil Society Engagement Mechanism for Universal Health Coverage for the coordination support, to our moderator, Amy Boldosser-Boesch, to our co-chairs Pam Cipriano and Magda Robalo, and to our fantastic panelists from the Coalition of Partnerships for UHC and Global Health: Alison Cox of the NCD Alliance, Pritha C. of Women in Global Health, Jaime Atienza Azcona of UNAIDS, Ilze Kalnina of PMNCH, Kana Halić Kordić of IFMSA | International Federation of Medical Students' Associations and Dr. Mengistu Asnake Kibret of Pathfinder International and CSEM for UHC2030 - The Civil Society Engagement Mechanism for Universal Health Coverage. Thank you all for illustrating the impact of inadequate financial protection and amplifying the #UHC movement and global campaign. Unaffordable health costs are making our communities poorer and sicker and holding us back on all of the #SustainableDevelopmentGoals. And we’re fed up! Join the 2025 #UHCDay campaign to show government decision-makers that we won’t stand for the status quo any longer. Unaffordable health costs? We’re sick of it!
