Albacore Inc. (YC S25) is building autonomous micro-submarines to prevent maritime invasions. Their first product is Ghostfin – a 6-foot-long autonomous underwater vehicle capable of patrolling over 1,000 nautical miles undetected and delivering kinetic effects against adversary vessels. Underwater autonomy is a decade behind unmanned aircraft and watercraft. Existing solutions are short-range, expensive, and overly mission-specific. Unlike the Ukrainians or Houthis, America doesn’t have underwater vehicles for attack missions in service. The founders have both spent years working to improve autonomous system performance and manufacturing, and our engineering team has a combined 20 years experience on robosubs, autonomous systems, space flight technology, and medical robotics.
