𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 European Language Data Space (LDS) with Georg Rehm (Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) | Project coordinator) to explore how the LDS is building a trustworthy European infrastructure for the collection, sharing, and re-use of multilingual and multimodal language data — from text to audio. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐝: 💡 The challenge: Europe’s 34 languages make it essential to collect and manage high-quality, multilingual data to power #AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) built around European values and diversity. 💡 The ambition: Establishing the LDS as the marketplace for European language data, unlocking new possibilities, especially industry data. 💡 The connection with #tourism: Tourism provides a “living corpus” for LDS, as mentioned by Américo Rio (NOVA IMS Information Management School), from reviews and translations to destination metadata. In return, LDS technologies enhance European tourism #dataspaces through automatic translation, voice services, cross-language search, and sentiment analysis.
