Dircks Moving & Logistics proudly celebrates the retirement of Gary and Donna Eaves, two of the most respected and beloved figures in Dircks Moving history and in the moving industry nationwide. With a combined century of service in the moving business, Gary and Donna have been synonymous with excellence, safety, and heart. Originally from Drakesville, Iowa, the Eaves duo began their journey in the moving business in the early 1970s. Over the years, they have driven millions of miles side by side and touched countless lives along the way. They have seen America in its truest form and glory. Donna puts it best: “The country is beautiful, no matter which parts you’re in. It’s different everywhere, but there’s beauty too.” Gary and Donna’s careers are marked by prestigious honors, including the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA) Lifetime Achievement Award and the Mayflower 2019 Household Goods West Van Operators of the Year Award. Their dedication, professionalism, and partnership have set a gold standard for the industry. The Eaves’ famous lightning bolt emblem was not just a decoration. It became a symbol of trust for colleagues and customers alike, an unwavering sign that everything would be handled with precision, pride, and compassion. Donna once said, “Dircks was a very good fit — it’s like a family feeling.” Our family now joins together to tribute the Eaves’ extraordinary career and wish them all the best in a well-earned retirement. As Gary and Donna park their truck for the last time, we at Dircks just want to say thank you. Thank you for the miles, the mentorship, and the example. You have moved more than households; you have moved all of us.
