Journal House Singapore 2025 is officially wrapped, capping a powerful week connecting with the business and leadership community and reinforcing the critical need for cross-border intelligence and adaptability we deliver every day! It was a highly insightful and deeply practical three days of candid, high-level discussion. The agenda didn't shy away from the thorniest challenges facing businesses, and the conversations around disruptive risks, geopolitics and opportunity have left a truly lasting impact. We kicked off Day 1 with Cyber Risk and AI where we heard from leaders such as David Koh, Commissioner of Cybersecurity and Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) and DBS Bank Group Head Legal and Compliance Lam Chee Kin. At the WSJ Leadership Institute, we heard from Minister of Manpower Tan See Leng on Leading and Innovating In Times of Change, Power Shifts That Will Define the Next Decade by Prof Kishore Mahbubani, News Corp CEO robert thomson discussed Competing in the Age of AI, Grab CEO Anthony Tan enlightened us about The Next Business Model using AI, Dr. Parag Khanna on Asia's new world order and DBS Bank CEO Tan Su Shan spoke about Economic Outlook, Transformative Technologies and Leadership. On Day 2, we hosted our Chief Compliance Officer Council and Risk Journal Programme where we had stellar expert speakers Kay Pang Dr. Martin Leo Barbara Tsai Christophe Sauer Vivek Agarwal John Alexander Gregorio Omera Khan Clark Jennings Yuet Ming Tham Shuhui Li Julie Mills discussed The challenge of identifying emerging risks and then deciding how to balance them with known, existing risks and The advance of artificial intelligence has coincided with the expansion of compliance programs. I really enjoyed the panel What We Have Learned About Policy Under Trump. Geopolitics, Wirecard Scandal and Opportunities in a turbulent times kept us glued to our seats till the end with Pav Gill Tony Fernandes and Jassim Al-Khori discussed about the next global era. And finally on Day 3, James Ooi Sue-Ern Tan Delia Liao Jeffrey Wang navigated geopolitics with energy policy, and John Howland Nicholas Redman kept me fixated on what the Middle East Conflict Means for Energy. This week at Journal House Singapore has been full of great conversations. I was lucky enough yesterday to host two panels, one about managing supply-chain risk today and the other on where companies need to focus on trade risk. 🌏 For the first, I was joined by Omera Khan of DHL, Vivek Agarwal of Olam Agri and John Alexander Gregorio of Roche, about how companies are managing shifting supply chains, changing regulations and tariffs, and their ever-changing exposure to risk. Later, I spoke with Julie Mills of Citi and Shuhui Li at Carrier HVAC about how diversification of supply chains has created new risks as companies seek to get smarter about their suppliers and carriers alike.
