🌍 GIZ East Asia’s Sino-German Climate Partnership supported the Club of Rome to inspire global and Chinese youth with their Survival Guide for Humanity 🌱 Prof. Peter Hennicke and Prof. Sandrine Dixson-Declève from the Club of Rome presented the Earth4All Initiative at Tsinghua University in Beijing on October 31, 2025. This event introduced key insights from the Earth4All initiative, a global effort focused on shaping a new economic paradigm that ensures prosperity for all within planetary boundaries. Prof. Hennicke and Prof. Dixson-Decleve shared the Earth4All vision, which addresses the world's most pressing crises—poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation—through five critical turnarounds in energy, food systems, and equality. The afternoon lecture served as an interactive discussion platform with students and professors, exploring how we can better understand and address the systemic challenges of our time. As part of the Sino-German Climate Partnership, we were honored to play a role in bringing this crucial dialogue to the next generation of climate leaders and helping to create new institutional networks. That same day, Prof. Peter Hennicke, Prof. Bin H., and I also had the privilege of speaking at the 2025 Global Youth Summit on Net-Zero Future, where young climate leaders from around the world gathered to discuss youth empowerment, green transitions, and the future of global climate governance. Prof. Hennicke delivered the keynote speech, and I contributed to the Youth Dialogue on Green Transition & Empowerment, a collaboration under the NextGen Climate Dialogue initiative, sponsored by the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The summit, supported by Tsinghua University and the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate (GAUC), was a powerful platform for youth to voice their perspectives on how to accelerate the green transition. I was proud to join a dynamic conversation on how we can better empower young people to take the lead in the urgent climate action needed to secure a sustainable future. These events served as a powerful reminder of the critical role that international collaboration and youth engagement play in driving systemic change. A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers, organizers, and participants for their invaluable contributions. Together, we can create the systemic change needed to address the climate crisis. 🌏 Let’s keep the momentum going! #GIZEastAsia #ClimateAction #Earth4All #YouthLeadership #NetZeroFuture #Sustainability #ClimateChange #TsinghuaUniversity #GreenTransition #GlobalDialogue #GAUC #GIZ Photo credits: Tsinghua University

This year’s COP30 in Belém, Brazil will be one of the most significant climate summits yet. In a new op-ed, Sandrine Dixson-Declève , honorary president of Club of Rome and Executive Chair of Earth4All, and Carlos Nobre, member of Club of Rome and Professor of Climate and Sustainability at the University of São Paulo, call for a redesign of the COP process that meets the realities of today’s polycrisis. They highlight three priorities: navigating geopolitical turbulence, reforming the consensus rule, and embedding social justice and inclusion at the heart of negotiations. The good news is that both the UNFCCC and the Brazilian Presidency are engaged in showing possible pathways forward. 📖 Read the full article originally published in Reuters Events Sustainable Business: https://vist.ly/4cmeu

At Tsinghua University in Beijing, the recent Earth4All lecture brought together two widely respected experts in sustainability — Sandrine Dixson-Declève and Peter Hennicke — for a powerful exploration of how societies can truly reinvent themselves within planetary boundaries. As Honorary President of the Club of Rome, Sandrine shared the global vision of the Earth4All Initiative, while Professor Hennicke, former head of the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy, revealed how Germany is translating this vision into concrete progress through the “5 turnarounds”: 🌾 Food | ⚡ Energy | ⚖️ Inequality | 🧠 Empowerment | 👥 Poverty Through policy insights and decades of experience, they offered a roadmap of both hope and realism — one that recognizes the challenges ahead but also celebrates the "Giant Leap" already taking shape. For Climate4U, being part of this event — organized with Tsinghua’s Institute for Climate Change and Sustainable Development, the Center for Science, Technology & Education Policy, and the Institute for Intelligent Society Governance — was an inspiring reminder that academia remains a living lab for global transformation. Because ultimately, sustainability is not just a goal — it’s an algorithm of change, where governance, innovation, and collective will intersect to create a new model for the future. ✨ Climate4U will continue to bridge knowledge and action, connecting young leaders, experts, and institutions in building the pathways toward a just and green transition. #Climate4U #Earth4All #ClubOfRome #Sustainability #ClimateAction #EnergyTransition #SystemChange #TsinghuaUniversity #GreenTransformation #Leadership #ClimateEducation Author: Bastien Barré - Climate4U Co-Founder

The climate negotiations must be guided by science. This year’s “10 New Insights in Climate Science” report urges action over promises, warning that the world can no longer afford delays. “The climate negotiations must be guided by science, and the 10 New Insights provide the best summary of the latest updates in climate science. These insights provide overwhelming evidence that we are in a state of climate urgency, which means that COP30 must be the COP of implementation – we can no longer afford new promises without delivery,” says Centre co-founder Johan Rockström, member of the report’s editorial board. One of the insights highlights the recent record warm ocean temperatures, and warns that oceanic warming has far-reaching consequences. The map is showing the impacts of the exceptional marine heatwaves in 2023–2024. The 10 New Insights in Climate Science is a collaboration between Future Earth, the The Earth League, and the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), involving 70 globally renowned scientists from 21 countries.
