When we talk about the New European Bauhaus (NEB), we often picture greener cities, inclusive public spaces, and beautiful architecture. But the NEB values - sustainability, inclusivity, and beauty - are just as relevant in places you might not expect in the first place: deep tech, data, AI and material science, to name a few. Meet a few of the current Catalyse participants that prove that green innovation can happen anywhere - also in tech-driven innovation 👇 🔹 r3leaf | Andreas Wittmann Develops automated climate-risk assessments to help construction and real estate make smarter, more sustainable decisions. Their tools support safer buildings, efficient energy use, and resilient communities. 🔹 RUBISKO | William Varcoe Creates digital tools to evaluate the true environmental impact of chemicals and materials. By revealing hidden effects, they help companies choose safer options and move toward circular product lifecycles. 🔹 MeNow | Hilla Ben-Hamo Arbel, PhD & Coralie Ebert, PhD Uses AI to understand nature at a molecular level, uncovering valuable ingredients from plants (often from agricultural waste) that can be used in healthier food and skincare. High-tech thinking, rooted in natural intelligence. 🔹 Vessel X | Oğul Görgülü Builds quiet, autonomous vessels that clean waterways and collect data, blending engineering with care for marine ecosystems. A reminder that technology can act gently and beautifully in service of nature. Together, these teams show that the green transition isn’t limited to traditional 'sustainability sectors.' With the right mindset, even complex tech can protect ecosystems, empower people, and create long-term value 🤝☘️ #EITCommunity | EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology

👐 What if wellbeing wasn’t a personal pursuit, but a collective one? What if feeling good went hand in hand with doing good - for others, for the planet, for the systems we depend on? Across Europe, a new generation of innovators is redefining what it means to live well. In the Catalyse NEB programme, four startups are scaling solutions that weave together care, creativity, and circularity, proving that impact and growth can thrive side by side. It starts with what we eat. BioDairy Labs 🍫 is reinventing the building blocks of food by developing plant-based fats that mimic dairy. Their work helps food makers craft healthier, sustainable products without losing the sensory joy of taste. For BioDairy, the balance between human and planetary health begins on our plates. MATRIA Biotechnology 🧫 continues that story of transformation, turning brewery by-products into high-quality oils and beverages through yeast fermentation. Their philosophy is simple yet radical: when biology and ecology work together, wellbeing becomes regenerative. But wellbeing is more than physical health: it’s also emotional connection and dignity. VocoMemo 👂 empowers people with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers through a simple yet powerful voice-recording device. With empathy at its core, it restores autonomy, memory, and ease, reminding us that care is an act of design. And when the day ends, 🛏️ MATR® redefines rest itself. Their circular mattress-as-a-service model saves CO₂, reduces waste, and provides first-class comfort to hotels across Europe. MATR® shows that true wellbeing lies in balance: a good night’s sleep for guests and for the planet alike. Each of these ventures started with the same question: 💭 How can we design for wellbeing that nurtures both people and the planet? The answers are as diverse as their paths, yet bound by the same belief: that sustainability, inclusion, and beauty aren’t trade-offs. They’re the foundations of a thriving future. 🤝 Through Catalyse NEB, we’re helping these changemakers scale their ideas, connect with Europe’s New European Bauhaus ecosystem, and grow without losing their values. Because when we reimagine wellbeing together, we all stand to benefit. A new Catalyse NEB call opens soon 💡 Preregister now to join the movement for a sustainable, inclusive, and beautiful future: https://lnkd.in/ehsEJ5BQ #EITCommunity | EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology

💧📖 From revitalizing a watermill to contributing to academic research: the journey of Minante shows how co-creation can transform both places and mindsets. As part of the EIT Community Co-Create NEB programme in 2023, Minante engaged over 500 citizens in the revitalization of the historic Minante watermill and its surroundings in northern Portugal - through storytelling, artistic residencies, and hands-on interventions that reconnected the community with its cultural and natural heritage. Now, their experience and findings are shared through two scientific publications, offering new perspectives on: 🧒 Arts-based engagement with natural and cultural heritage in schools 🏡 Tactical collaboration and co-ownership in rural contexts 🔗 Read the papers: 1️⃣ From Riverbank to Ocean: Involving Young Generations With Their Territory Through Artistic Practices 👉 https://lnkd.in/e7wgm4ZV 2️⃣ Exploring the Potentials of Rural Tactical Action for Co-Creating Heritage: The Case of the “Minante” Project 👉 https://lnkd.in/ebk6gxGh Minante stands as a beautiful example of how New European Bauhaus values - sustainability, inclusion, and beauty - come to life through community-driven design. #EITCommunity EIT Food | EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology
