Embassy of Switzerland in the United States of America reposted this Women Leading Beyond Borders: As part of their Houston program, the Swiss Women’s Leadership Delegation visited Axiom Space, one of the most visionary players in the global space industry and the company leading the development of the world’s first commercial space station. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Jonathan Cirtain (President), Mr. Jared Stout (Chief Global Policy Officer), Dr. Peggy Whitson (Astronaut and Director of Human Spaceflight), Dr. Lucie Low (Chief Science Officer), and Mr. Allen Flynt (Deputy General Manager of Axiom Station and Mission Services), among others. The visit began with an executive briefing on Axiom’s commercial space station project, followed by a guided tour through the company’s cutting-edge facilities — including laboratories focused on avionics, propulsion systems, life support engineering, and human-centered module design. A special highlight was the meet-and-greet with women leaders at Axiom Space, where members of the delegation exchanged experiences with Axiom’s diverse team of engineers, managers, and scientists shaping the future of human spaceflight and the new generation of space suits at Axiom. Dr. Peggy Whitson, the first female commander of the International Space Station and one of the most experienced astronauts in history, shared inspiring insights on leadership, resilience, and pushing boundaries beyond Earth. Discussions underscored the importance of international cooperation, innovation, and female leadership in advancing the next generation of space exploration — values strongly shared by both Switzerland and Axiom Space. Thank you to Axiom Space for the warm welcome and the inspiring exchange on how science, collaboration, and visionary thinking can truly go beyond borders — and even beyond Earth.
