We’re excited to announce Equip has been recognized by TIME as one of the World’s Top HealthTech Companies of 2025, ranked Outstanding in Telehealth & Treatment. This list honors companies driving the most impactful health innovations worldwide. Companies were judged on financial performance, reputation, and online engagement. Right now, less than 20% of people with eating disorders ever access care. We’re proud of the work our Equipsters do each day to provide timely, accessible, and evidence-based care for those who need it. Recognition like this shows how Equip is breaking barriers and making treatment possible for communities who’ve been left out for too long. It’s not just grades that are being sent home from school, in 16 states across the U.S. students’ weights and BMIs are too. Weigh-ins at school do more harm than good. Erin Parks, Ph.D. was featured in today’s Parents article discussing the BMI screenings happening in schools across the country and the risk they pose to adolescents’ body image, mental health and self-esteem. As Dr. Parks shared in the article, “BMI and weight are blunt tools that don’t capture other metrics like growth trajectories, genetic variation, or emotional and mental wellness.” We know that for those predisposed to eating disorders, this is the exact type of experience that can trigger shame, disordered eating, and fuel body image concerns for years to come. We’re glad to see this topic getting the visibility it deserves. The message we hope parents and kids take away from this conversation: kids’ bodies will grow and change, but all bodies are good bodies. https://lnkd.in/gCrw7HuT

I recently asked my 11-year-old son if he knew what a GLP-1 was, and, to my surprise, he did! As a clinical psychologist and co-founder of Equip, I am concerned about the narrative teens are consuming. Their social feeds often link weight loss and GLP-1s to "wellness" and "self-improvement," creating the harmful impression that a changing or growing body is a problem to be solved. Thank you to Wendy Wisner for sharing my advice on how to talk about GLP-1s with teens. https://lnkd.in/gevtQ53f

We are proud to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month by sharing our new research, one of the largest nationally representative surveys ever conducted on eating disorders, body image, and the Latinx community. Some key findings: 🥘Food, culture and connection are deeply tied Food can represent love, family and provide a sense of belonging, but it can also be a source of shame. Over half of the people surveyed experienced weight-based teasing or discrimination, often from family members. This speaks to the complexity and nuance of each person’s relationship with food and their body. Disordered eating is common but underdiagnosed 🔍71% reported at least one disordered eating behavior in the year, but only 12% have received a diagnosis. Stereotypes about who eating disorders impact and lack of culturally competent providers contributes to gaps in care and treatment. Mental health support is underutilized 🧠Nearly 1 in 5 Latinx respondents rated their mental health as negative, yet 63% aren’t seeing a provider for support. For those who do seek help, they need more than competent providers who share their language and identity, they need true understanding, connection and culturally humble care. We’re committed to highlighting the needs of people across backgrounds and identities so that we can continue working to provide care that supports eating disorder recovery and healing for all who need it. https://lnkd.in/gJ4ZfndV #HispanicHeritageMonth #EatingDisorderResearch

We’re honored to be featured in Texas Monthly’s powerful new story, “A Hidden Problem at the Food Bank,” by Carrie Arnold. The piece sheds light on the often-overlooked connection between food insecurity and eating disorders. It includes a deeply moving quote from one of our Equipsters who shares her personal experience and how it shapes her work as a family mentor at Equip. ❤️ Eating disorders don’t look a certain way, and everyone deserves care—regardless of zip code, income, or background. We’re proud of our Equipsters who spread this message daily, and we’re grateful to be featured in such an important piece Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gM4jd_r2 #TexasMonthly #FoodInsecurity #EatingDisorders #EatingDisorderRecovery
