#Bioética #Equidad #SaludRural #Investigación #ProyectoDESERT #CienciaConImpacto Last weekend we had the opportunity to take part in the XVIII Bioethics National Congress, where our PI Isabel Antón presented the DESERT project. During her talk, she shared the main goals and current progress of the project, which aims to understand and reduce inequities in access to healthy food and physical activity opportunities in rural areas of Spain, Portugal, and Türkiye. It was a great opportunity to reflect on the ethical challenges of conducting research with rural communities, our commitment to equity, and the social responsibility behind our work. We sincerely thank the congress organizers for the invitation and everyone who joined us for their interest and engagement. #Bioethics #Equity #RuralHealth #Research #DESERTProject #ScienceForImpact ERA4Health

👋🏻 Welcome to NanoCarbaOne!! 🎯 Our project aims to: 🔹 design a point-of-care device combining dispersible sensors to pre-concentrate bacteria, and an array of nano-structured sensors, within a microfluidics chip 🔹 test the device with purified carbapenemases 🔹 validate its analytical and clinical performance with bacterial isolates of known CR phenotypes and with CR-positive blood, urine and rectal swab samples. 👥 NanoCarbaOne is coordinated by ICIQ and brings together five partners from across Europe with expertise in microbiology, diagnostics, microfluidics, and medical technology: the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red CIBER in Spain, the Department of Medical Biotechnologies at the University of Siena (Università degli Studi di Siena) in Italy, SINTEF Digital’s Smart Sensors and Microsystems group in Norway, Yallow Life Science also in Norway, and redox.me in Poland. 🤝 The project is funded under the ERA4Health partnership, a European initiative that selects collaborative research projects at the European level. Each consortium partner then applies for funding through their respective national funding agencies.
