Not all heroes fly. Some decode complex data, tell science in simple words, ask bold questions, build solutions, or inspire the next generation. What’s your scientific superpower? The European Research Competence Framework identifies 38 competencies, ranging from cognitive skills and conducting research to managing projects and tools, making an impact, collaborating with others, and self-management. You’ve probably mastered some of them, but you might also have a unique superpower that makes you shine at work, in your team, and in life. We’ve published a new practical guide to help #HorizonEU projects create clear, impactful policy briefs that capture the attention of policymakers. Inside, you'll find drafting tips, key dos and don’ts, plus a handy template with examples. What’s a policy brief, and why is it important? It’s a short, targeted document drawing on scientific evidence to shape actionable recommendations for policymakers to make better decisions for society. P.S. The colleagues behind this #Science4Policy guide will have a stand at the European Research & Innovation Days. You’ll have the chance to meet them in person and ask your questions on 17 September between 15:30-16:30 at the Square, Brussels. European Research Executive Agency (REA) reposted this
Science, research and innovation are one of the most valuable goods we have. President Ursula von der Leyen made it clear in her State of the Union speech this morning: they are key for Europe’s future. European Commission's initiatives such as Choose Europe and a reinforced Horizon Europe programme are crucial to attract more talent, support researchers and ensure scientific freedom. Europe must step up where others stepped away. By investing in science, research and innovation, we can ensure the EU remains a leader in addressing global challenges and creating a better future for all. Ekaterina Zaharieva #SOTEU #ChooseEurope
