Our mission is to prevent and end homelessness, one life at a time.
About us
With 75 years of experience providing critical programs and services to San Diegans experiencing homelessness, Father Joe’s Villages is San Diego’s leading homeless service provider. With at least 8,000 individuals experiencing homelessness on any given night in San Diego, our compassionate and effective solutions are more necessary than ever. People who are homeless are at greater risk of serious illness, poor mental health, substance abuse and violence. In fact, our homeless neighbors have a mortality rate four to nine times higher than those who are not homeless. At Father Joe’s Villages we believe every person, housed or not, is deserving of respect and dignity, and has the ability to lead a productive and fulfilling life. No situation is the same, so we offer individually tailored services to help our homeless neighbors reach their true potential. With decades of experience, our results speak for themselves. Proudly, we have helped more than 11,000 people achieve permanent housing in the last 10 years. But, our work is not done. That is why, Father Joe’s Villages houses more than 2,000 people nightly—from infants and adolescents to adults and seniors. We hope you’ll help us continue our work to end homelessness one life at a time.

Together, we raised over $291,000 at our recent 5th Annual Father Joe’s Villages Golf Classic presented by The BEST CEO Group. 🎉 The sold-out event brought together more than 30 companies — a true celebration of community, compassion, and fun on the course. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, sponsors, staff, and attendees — and with the support of partners like the DAVID C COPLEY FOUNDATION, which provided a match challenge — this event helps keep our veteran neighbors housed and supported. A special thank you to @MikeSchleyhan (https://lnkd.in/gD-9HU_9) for your guidance and unwavering support. #FJVGolfClassic2025 #GolfForGood #VeteransSupport #CommunityStrong #MakingADifference #FatherJoesVillages #FJV75 #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors

It’s official - Father Joe's Villages is opening a Detox! After months of planning, fundraising, renovating, applications and other hurdles, we’ve reached a milestone moment: our team has officially received state licensure for the #DetoxProgram at Father Joe’s Villages. This achievement was made possible by the dedication of our incredible #VillageHealthCenter staff, the support of #FJVLeadership, and the invaluable partnership of donors, board members, #DHCS, #McAlisterInstitute, and our local elected officials who helped turn this vision into reality. We are excited for the opportunity to transform even more lives through compassionate, comprehensive treatment services. Together, we’re creating pathways to recovery and hope for our neighbors in need. #HealthcareInnovation #HealthCareForAll #EndHomelessness #FJV #SanDiego #Detox #RecoveryMonth #RecoveryIsPossible

Question: Can telehealth treatment of Opioid Use Disorder support the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness who frequent our local libraries? Answer: Check out this recently published article about #BupebytheBook to learn more! https://lnkd.in/g84sZaHt The #VillageHealthCenter was proud to partner with #SDSU and #UCSD on #NIDA funded research project which explored tele-MAT for people experiencing homelessness. At #FJV we believe that our neighbors in need deserve access to high-quality, evidence-based health services that take into account the unique barriers that they face as well as their personal goals and strengths. And in the case where best practices have yet to be identified, we'll go out and test these cutting-edge interventions ourselves! 💙 Congratulations to Lianne Urada, PhD, MSW, LCSW who is pursuing this important exploration of low-barrier care for the underserved! 🎉 #HealthCareForAll #HealthcareInnovation #FatherJoesVillages #SanDiegoStateUniversity #UniversityofCaliforniaSanDiego #EndHomelessness #HarmReduction #MAT #RecoveryMonth #RecoveryIsPossible

Yesterday marked a major milestone in our mission to serve San Diego’s most vulnerable. On September 23, 2025, we officially opened the doors to our new Detox Center, adding 44 treatment and recovery beds for individuals struggling with substance use. This facility represents a crucial step forward in behavioral health services in San Diego. With compassionate, comprehensive care, we’re offering a safe place for recovery. We were honored to celebrate this moment with a ribbon cutting and blessing by our very own Deacon Jim Vargas, and deeply grateful to Joshua Bohannan for his powerful opening words that reminded us why this work matters. Special thanks to our dedicated partners and elected officials who joined us today: Raul A. Campillo, Stephen Whitburn, Paloma Aguirre, and the County of San Diego for your support and belief in our shared mission. This is more than just a building...it’s a lifeline. And it's only possible because of the power of partnership. 💙 #FatherJoesVillages #SanDiego #DetoxCenter #BehavioralHealth #RebuildingLives #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors #HomelessnessSolutions #RecoveryIsPossible #HopeLivesHere #FJV75
