Using cones, hula hoops, putting competitions, and chipping games, our coaches create an environment where learning feels like play. These activities teach golf fundamentals while seamlessly integrating life skills like patience, strategic thinking, and healthy competition. This experiential approach makes golf accessible to all skill levels and keeps participants coming back.

Nicolette Scalf, First Tee's senior manager of events, was recently featured on Golf Channel's "Women Changing the Game" segment. From discovering golf as a kid to now creating life-changing experiences for First Tee participants, Nicolette shows how golf can shape lives on and off the fairway. A USGA-certified rules expert who officiates national championships as a member of the USGA's National Committee, she’s proof that passion for golf can open doors in countless directions. Derek Lee is the first participant from First Tee — Oakland to attend a national opportunity - heading to Innovators Forum in Ponte Vedra Beach this weekend! From participant at age 7 to junior coach today, Derek's understands what it means to be a game changer, "I want to be a positive role model and mentor for them, just as others were for me." At Innovators Forum, he'll develop a community service project to expand opportunities for younger participants back home. He'll also hear from industry leaders at CapTech and Constellation, and watch legends like Ernie Els compete at Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS presented by Circle K.

Justin Hsieh from First Tee - Raritan Valley Valley is sparking curiosity and creativity in young minds through his Innovators Forum project focused on STEM education! 🌟 Starting with an 8-student pilot program, Justin developed a hands-on 3D design course that grew into a 4-day summer camp serving multiple age groups. His innovative curriculum combined CAD modeling, electronics, robotics, and coding — ensuring every participant could take home their own creations. Congratulations to Justin and the other participants who won education stipends based on their Innovators Forum projects–Jaxon Cox, Anna Wang, Kaitlyn Gonzales, Krish Veluthakkal, Kavya Shah, Isabella Kornmeyer, Kaitlyn Gonzales, Jake Ruppert.
