Florida's insurance market continues to see great stability and the strong underwriting gains in the auto market is just the latest sign of success since Florida's historic tort reforms. Commissioner Yaworsky is bringing companies to the table to remind them of their statutory obligations to return excess profits to policyholders, including nearly $1 billion in credits to Progressive auto policyholders.

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) is hiring Senior Attorneys! I’m looking for attorneys eager to learn about the insurance industry and willing to serve the people of Florida. We are looking for lawyers with two years or more experience. Insurance, administrative law, or litigation experience is preferred, but it is NOT required. I’m also open to private sector associates who want to spend a couple years beefing up their regulatory experience with the goal of one day returning to private practice. State Farm highlighted the progress of our historic reforms: “In 2023, the Legislature passed HB 837, a monumental litigation reform package addressing lawsuit abuse.
