Last week, we celebrated the opening of Anthro Energy's new Alameda headquarters. Huge thanks to Jackie Nguyen for creating the opportunity to celebrate Anthro's success and continued growth at this ribbon-cutting ceremony! CoBUILD created this space for Anthro to scale manufacturing and R&D, with specialized features like a new dry room. The offices and labs take advantage of the space's abundant natural light, making it a great place to collaborate, innovate, and return to in-person work. The build is designed to grow with them—this first phase of the project established essential electrical and HVAC systems so Anthro can expand with confidence in Phase 2. As Justin Yen of Anthro shared with us, this isn’t just about square footage. It’s about giving Anthro the environment they need to advance their mission: unlocking the potential of batteries for the future of energy storage and use. CoBUILD President Ed Wood and Superintendent Leyth Ertas were proud to stand alongside the Anthro team at this milestone. We look forward to what’s next as Phase 2 gets underway.

MCS Construction Services is proud to announce the completion of our confidential private equity client’s new San Francisco office at One Market Plaza. The buildout opens to sweeping views of the Bay Bridge and Embarcadero waterfront, with storefront glazing strategically placed to frame the panorama and maximize natural light. This new space includes a welcoming reception area, conference rooms, flexible private offices and hoteling spaces, and break areas. Architectural finishes emphasize a clean, modern aesthetic, with fabric-wrapped panels and custom millwork introduce warmth and texture, while integrated appliance panels create a seamless, refined appearance in the breakroom. Extensive custom electrical, AV, and security system requirements called for early and ongoing coordination between MCS, the client, the building, and all trade partners. Proactive planning and close stakeholder collaboration resolved key integration details and procurement lead-time challenges, enabling a smooth turnover on schedule.
