Exactly one year since its presence in the national automotive market, GAC Group has confirmed its commitment to the development of the electric vehicle industry in the country. GAC's vehicle manufacturing plant in Indonesia has officially started operating. This assembly plant is an investment from IndomobilGroup through PT National Assemblers (NA). Carrying the concept of "Lighthouse Factory", this factory is the embodiment of environmentally friendly smart manufacturing, supported by the latest technology and an integrated production system. This factory is designed to meet the demands of a rapidly growing market, especially in the pure electric vehicle segment. Over the past year, GAC AION Indomobil has presented various GAC AION models, including, AION Y Plus, AION V and Hyptec HT. Through the inauguration of the operation of this assembly plant, GAC also emphasizes its long-term commitment: "Come to Indonesia, For Indonesia", in line with the One GAC 2.0 global strategy that encourages the development of a sustainable automotive industry. “Indonesia is a key market in GAC’s global expansion and is at the forefront of our overseas development strategy. With the inauguration of PT National Assemblers’ assembly plant, we want to strengthen our contribution to Indonesia’s economic growth, industrial upgrading and sustainable mobility transformation,” said Mr. Wei Haigang, President of GAC International. The first model to be assembled is the AION V, marking an important step in supporting the government’s program to develop the national electric vehicle ecosystem. The entire assembly operation fully adopts the advanced manufacturing system of GAC’s NEV Lighthouse Factories in China, with 100% data connectivity throughout the entire production process. This enables precise quality control and high operational efficiency. The production line changeover process can be done in just 30 minutes, enabling fast and responsive production. The current capacity is capable of producing vehicles at a rate of 3 JPH (Jobs Per Hour) and will be increased to 5 JPH. In the initial stage, the factory capacity is designed to produce up to 20,000 units per year. In the next few years, we will add some investments to increase production capacity to 50,000 units per year, to meet domestic and export market demand. With the flexibility of the production line, Indomobil Group will support the assembly of GAC's pure electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid vehicles (HEV/PHEV) in accordance with the development of GAC Group's product strategy. This strategic collaboration marks a major step towards the future of sustainable mobility, strengthening Indonesia's position as the center of electric vehicle production in Southeast Asia.
