Today marks the anniversary of the night that changed everything. I was 28 when I was rushed into emergency surgery with an 18 cm fibroid pressing against my uterus, colon, and bladder. That night, I almost lost all three, and nearly my life. I still remember the fear, the sterile lights, the silence before the doctors spoke. What was supposed to be a routine check became a fight for survival. But what came after was harder, the realization that what happened to me wasn’t rare. It was painfully common. Yet no one was talking about it. That’s the night The Hope Project was born, long before it had a name. It began with a question: Why aren’t we preventing this? Years later, with my background in pharmacology and a decade in healthcare and OBGYN products at 3M Healthcare, I decided to find the answer. To turn survival into science. To build something that could make prevention possible for every woman who has ever been told to “just manage it.” Today, as I look back, I don’t see a scar, I see purpose. ✨ The Hope Project is now raising funds for its first clinical study, to validate what we’ve built and bring prevention into the hands of women everywhere.
