This week is Banned Books Week, an annual event that unites the book community in support of the freedom to read. This year's theme is “Censorship Is So 1984. Read for Your Rights,” which highlights the 2,452 unique titles challenged in public, school, and academic libraries last year—the third-highest number ever recorded by the American Library Association. At HarperCollins, we proudly support freedom of expression and every reader’s right to choose what, when, and where they read. This month, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of Beverly Cleary’s debut novel, Henry Huggins. The timeless tale follows an average boy whose life is turned upside down when he meets a lovable puppy with a nose for mischief. Cleary went on to write five more books about Henry and a spinoff series based on his beloved neighbors, Ramona and Beezus, that earned her two Newbery Honors. Join us in celebrating 75 years of Henry Huggins and Beverly Cleary! Explore Cleary’s work: https://lnkd.in/duaTRt68
