As we enter our 80th year in business, we’re reminded that Herr’s success has always started with our people. Our annual Family Fun Day over the past weekend was a perfect way to celebrate the incredible employees and families who make Herr’s such a special place to work. From great food and games to prizes and laughter, it was a day filled with gratitude, fun, and community. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a memorable event , here’s to 80 years of flavor, family, and fun!

Herr’s was proud to join the Helping Hands Community Care Challenge this week! It was a high-energy, high-impact day of service bringing together hundreds of corporate volunteers to support patients at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and beyond. Special thanks to Wawa, the event’s largest sponsor, for helping make this incredible day possible. From assembling activity kits to brighten the days of inpatient children to packing essential supply bags for families in need, it was inspiring to see so many hands come together to bring kindness, comfort, and resources to those who need it most.

We’re excited to share that Herr Foods is now entering a new chapter in our story. Effective September 1, 2025, Troy Gunden, president and third-generation family leader, has stepped into the role of CEO & President. Second-generation leader Ed Herr transitioned to Executive Chairman, where he’ll continue guiding our long-term strategy and mentoring. With more than two decades at Herr’s—including six years as president—Troy brings deep company knowledge, passion, and fresh energy to lead our growth, innovation, and commitment to our people, our customers, and our legacy. Join us in congratulating Troy on this well-earned promotion and thanking Ed for his continued leadership. Here’s to the future!

Yesterday, we hosted our Annual Leadership Conference, and it was an incredible day filled with insight and inspiration. A huge thank you to all our employees who attended — your presence made it truly special. We were honored to welcome Kevin Brown, who spoke about The HERO Effect, and John Middleton, owner of the Phillies, who shared leadership lessons from his remarkable career. We’re out here in Chillicothe, Ohio today for our Open Interview Day, and we’re blown away by the response—over 200 applications for our 2nd shift open positions! It’s an exciting time for us as we continue to grow and expand our production capabilities, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the support from this amazing community.
