#Iraq In the Beiji district of Salah al-Din, specifically in the village of Shams al-Ajaj, vast areas of agricultural land remain contaminated with explosive remnants from the 2013–2014 conflict. These unexploded ordnances have turned over 135,000 square meters of previously fertile farmland into hazardous areas, preventing families from farming and living safely. With the support of our specialized demining teams, HI continues its efforts to clear this land. The importance of this work lies in the fact that each cleared area restores families’ livelihoods — their farms, sources of income, and peace of mind. Despite the progress made, needs in Salah al-Din remain immense, as many villages still face daily risks from unexploded ordnances that claim the lives of innocent people, including children. This life-saving work is made possible thanks to the continuous support of the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), and HI remains committed to making the governorate free from these hazards. But we cannot do it alone — with increased international support and continued awareness efforts, we can build a safe future for all. #Lebanon Some of us face significant challenges in living a normal life, especially when mental health support is needed. Thanks to psychological support services, this lady was able to regain her inner strength, regulate her emotions, and improve her daily life in a tangible way. This transformation comes through the “Support to Acute and Post-Acute Healthcare for Vulnerable Persons in Lebanon” project, implemented by Humanity & Inclusion in partnership with Mousawat and Embrace, and funded by the European Union, aiming to improve access to mental health care for vulnerable populations. #MentalHealthMatters #MHPSS #WellbeingForAll EU in Emergencies

#Gaza When 10-year-old Mohammed heard that the Israeli armed forces were firing bullets and shells at people heading to receive aid in the Zikim area, north of Gaza City, he rushed out in fear to look for his father, who was late returning from collecting aid. While searching, he was struck by a tank shell and had to undergo an above-knee amputation. Today, Mohammed is receiving rehabilitation support from Humanity & Inclusion (HI). With the support of prosthetics & orthotics specialist Heba Bashir, he is learning to walk again with his prosthetic limb. Children like Mohammed should not have to worry about surviving conflict, they deserve the chance to grow, learn, and play in safety.

#Syria 𝐈𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐢𝐫-𝐄𝐳-𝐙𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧. Through information gathered by HI’s community liaison work, HI EOD team was deployed after reports of unexploded ordnance (UXO) inside the school. What began as a single report revealed hundreds of UXO items scattered around the school grounds. The clearance restored safety to a place that children had been too afraid to enter, allowing learning, hope, and community life to return. Between 15 August and 15 October 2025, the Mine Action Area of Responsibility (MA AoR) recorded 108 explosive ordnance incidents across Syria, resulting in 158 civilian casualties, including 39 fatalities and 119 injuries — underscoring the continued urgency of mine action efforts. Thanks to the generous support of #GFFO, the school is now safe again. #Lebanon In partnership with UNICEF Lebanon, Humanity & Inclusion (HI) organized an interactive training with Caritas Lebanon volunteers at Maad Club, transforming learning into a space for inclusion, creativity, and connection. Through puppet theatre, memory games, and inclusive communication exercises, participants explored how to shift narratives toward inclusive language and discovered how small actions can #Break_Barriers and make everyone feel seen and valued. Inclusion starts with each of us. How do you make learning spaces welcoming for all? Share your ideas in the comments’ section below!
