We were honored to be part of the #Katrina20 premiere event by providing food for the guests who came together to witness and celebrate these moving stories. This multimedia project sheds light on the Latino experience surrounding Hurricane Katrina, stories of strength, survival, and community that deserve to be heard. Congratulations to the entire team behind the project for creating something truly impactful. We’re proud to have played a small role in such a big moment. #Katrina20 #IdealMarket #LatinoHeritage #Community#NewOrleans #SupportLocalVoices
Whew! So much work, and so worth it. For #Katrina20 we embarked in a multimedia project that included our print and digital magazine, a website revamp, a video series and a premiere event, telling stories of Katrina and its aftermath from a Latino perspective. I’m so grateful for the support we received from the team that came together to shoot, edit and publish the videos, those who agreed to tell their stories. Thank you to our wonderful sponsor COLMEX CONSTRUCTION LLC., our media partners WVUE-TV Fox 8, and broadcast outlet WLAE-TV, to The Art Spot that hosted us for our premiere event and to Ideal Market for the delicious food at the premiere. Thanks to Marina Colorado and Nicole Ralston for donating to this project! Thanks to @Andrés Fuentes for pushing me and helping in every way to get this project done, to Carolina L., Herbert Bech, and Alberto Uribe, for helping shoot and edit the videos! Thanks to @Sergio Cabrera for providing his archival photos, to @Piki Mendizabal for securing the venue and all his help during the event! Thanks to Axel Rosa and Alberto and Betty Uribe (my amazing parents) for helping set-up the venue. ❤️ Now go watch and share the videos 🎞️
