Division of Real Estate Director Laurie Murphy was an honored guest at the Association of South Asian Real Estate Professionals (“ASARP”) annual gala in Elmhurst on October 24. ASARP is a non-profit organization that promotes education and representation for the South Asian real estate professionals. This year’s event was a celebration of ASARP’s 10-year anniversary, and we congratulate Shirin Marvi, a board member on our Real Estate Administration and Disciplinary Board, on her appointment as a lifetime Vice Chair for the group, and Sunita Kakarlapudi on her re-election as ASARP’s President!

Travel to conduct formal and informal hearings on complaints that allege violations. Institutes licensure disciplinary proceedings in the Department against a licensee accused of irregular practice under assigned acts. Will assist the superior in prioritizing and assigning controlled substance-related cases. Conducts research and provides expert legal advice to professional licensing and disciplinary boards. Under direct supervision, this position will receive on the job and classroom training and complete assignments to acquire knowledge and skills in performing evaluations assigned to the Banks, Trust Companies, and Savings Institutions Section in the Division of Banking. Assists higher level examiners, travels, and receives training in gathering information to analyze consumer compliance risk and Community Reinvestment Act (“CRA”) practices; to analyze and evaluate the institution’s compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations.
