👷♂️💡 MANUFACTURING BOSS PRO TIP 👷♀️ WIN as a team, DIE as a team. Sounds pretty harsh, no? 😬 "DIE as a team." Yes, it does, and yes, it is. 💥 However, it's a very effective team-building strategy. 🤝 I’m grateful we don’t have to use this tactic often, but when we do, it’s always effective. 💯 🔍 How does this work? Well, a team member screws up a job. 😳 The job needs to be sorted.* This usually means double-digit thousands of parts. 🛠️ We believe in cleaning up your own mess, but we would never move forward if the guilty team member was the only one sorting. 🚨 The entire team stops what they're doing, gathers around makeshift tables, and sorts parts. The process is the same every time: 1️⃣ Everyone complains while setting up. 2️⃣ Sorting starts, and everyone complains—loudly—especially ribbing the guilty team member. 😅 3️⃣ Sorting continues, and the grumbling slowly turns into jokes. 😂 4️⃣ Sorting completes with everyone—literally everyone—laughing, and we often end the day with some well-deserved beer. 🍻 *Only done when parts cannot be sorted by automation. ⚙️ #manufacturing #leadership #teambuilding

National Manufacturing Day 2024 With the participation of two area manufacturers, National Manufacturing Day 2024 was a momentous success. National Manufacturing Day occurs on the first Friday in October and celebrates those who proudly stand behind their American manufactured deliverables. The premise is to underscore the importance of manufacturing in the U.S. economy, inspire the next generation of skilled laborers, and address the misconceptions regarding the industry. Additionally, it serves as part of a broader initiative to address the skills gap in the manufacturing industry by encouraging young people to pursue careers in manufacturing and STEM-related occupations. Image Industries and SafTCart invitingly open their doors to bright-eyed students to enlighten them about wonderful and obtainable career opportunities within their respective companies. Kudos are in order in the extension of recognition to Kyrie Antici, C.C.C. The future pipeline of labor—both on and off the plant floor! 🔧👷♀️👷♂️ I used to avoid it. No time for that! 🕒 Let’s be real, a portion of the shop loses a day of production. ⚙️ However… after my move to MS, I realized industry wasn’t even recognized as a viable career path here. 😮 I knew I had to step up and get the community involved. 🔑 People need to know what’s possible in manufacturing. Many don’t even realize manufacturers need marketing or sales! 🤯 I’ve talked to educators and career coaches who simply had no idea. Tips: ✔️ Make it fun for you and your team! 🎉 ✔️ Involve as many team members as possible—you’re losing the day anyway! 👥 ✔️ Create hands-on activities for the kids! 👶✂️ For example, have them make paper airplanes ✈️ without a pattern, then with one—it's an engaging way to teach quality! ✔️ Giveaways are a hit! 🎁 Child’s safety glasses in your company colors = 💡 ✔️ Have lunch for your tour leaders and a debrief session to improve for next year! 🍽️📝 Yes, it’s a lot of work. 🚀 MANUFACTURING BOSS PRO TIP! 🏭👷♂️ WHAT’S YOUR NAME? 🤔👤 As a C-suite person… it is my opinion that knowing your employee’s names is critical to culture. 🌟 This was reinforced when I approached a relatively new employee 👨 to advise him of a meeting 📆 that I knew he would miss because he was moved to a different working location. I walked up to him and said, “Hi Chris,” 👋 and I could not finish my sentence because he looked so shocked that I had to ask him if he was OK. He said, “yes - I am just shocked that you know my name.” 😲 Now - he was at his previous job for a decade 🔟 …. it was a small business….. the owner did not know his name. Or at least the owner never called him by his name. He was visibly shocked and honored at the same time. Psychologically - what are the benefits of using someone’s name❓❓ ✔ Creates culture ✔ Solidifies relationships with your employees ✔ Creates respect ✔ Creates a sense of belonging ✔ People will remember that you used their name and how that made them feel ✔ Acknowledges a person’s worth Comment other benefits! 💬👇

Go Get'em Goals❕ Did you know... that your values must be congruent with your goals to have a successful outcome❓ This is a true statement. If your goals do not align with your life values, you will not accomplish them and if you do, chances are that you won’t be happy🎉. As an obvious example - you set a goal to earn 💲150,000 and you also have a life value that states that too much money is bad, you have a conflict. The life value will win. What can you do❓ EASY - Update the life value❗ In this situation, what are the good things you can do with that money 💵 you are so blessed 🙏 to receive? Some examples - you could donate it to others in need or it could buy you time to volunteer. Why didn’t I say update the goal❔ Typically, goals are what is on our hearts 💜. Diversity with a Twist 🌪 continues our conversation on having a multi-generational workforce❗ Gen Z- also known as the post Millennials or Zoomers! Born 1997 - 2012, current ages 12-27, making up 20% of the population. Not surprisingly, facts are still being gathered about this generation. They were the hardest hit by Covid, with not being able to gain employment, job loss (they were the first cut) or wage decrease. They are the first generation of not knowing life before smart phones 😱. Due to their age, they have the hardest time gaining employment.
