While today is officially World Food Day, we’ve been celebrating its spirit for almost two months! Through our Hand in Hand for #BetterDays campaign—two months of volunteerism and giving inspired by this year’s World Food Day theme—our incredible employees have been living our mission to create better days for the communities we serve around the world. Since the beginning of September, they’ve taken part in activities like snack-packing drives led by our Business Employee Resource Groups, team volunteering outings at local food banks, and even delivering food to families affected by natural disaster. Over the past 2 years, we’ve partnered with ADM to help cotton farmers in Alabama, Florida and Georgia adopt farming practices that protect the soil and water and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from 120,000 acres of land. The results? In 2024, enrolled farmers: ⬇️ Reduced the release of harmful heat-trapping gases (like carbon dioxide) by 16,000 metric tons 🔃 Used cover crops and other techniques to absorb and capture 42,000 metric tons of carbon That’s the equivalent of removing more than 13,000 gas-powered cars off the road for a year! Of the land covered by the program, 15,000 acres were farmed by members of the National Black Growers Council, a group we’ve been supporting since 2023. Every year, the NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) Directorship 100 Awards celebrates the most influential leaders in corporate governance. Each honoree is recognized for demonstrating excellence in the boardroom and advancing governance practices through innovation, integrity and courage. This year, the NACD has chosen Don Knauss, Lead Director of the Kellanova Board of Directors, to receive the B. Kenneth West Lifetime Achievement Award, which honors an individual whose career reflects dedication to strengthening corporate governance and board leadership.
