At enGene's town hall this week, our Director of Advancement, Emily Stanford, shared how Life Science Cares Boston is harnessing the power of Boston’s life sciences community to close the health equity gap — helping more local families meet their basic needs and access education and opportunity. During the event’s fireside chat, our Executive Director, Rosie Cunningham, joined Ron Cooper, enGene CEO and LSC Board of Advisor, for an inspiring conversation about what it really takes to break down barriers, expand access to care, and uplift our neighbors across Boston. We’re so grateful for partners like enGene, who bring this mission to life every day — whether they’re hosting local students as Project Onramp interns or volunteering with our nonprofit partners. Their commitment to giving back shows what’s possible when the life sciences community comes together to make a lasting impact.

Big smiles, full backpacks, and craft tables scattered with colorful new supplies — THIS is what collaboration looks like. Thank you to the Sanofi crew who packed over 100 backpacks for students supported by our partner, The Life After Prison. Your efforts gave local kids the essentials they need to walk into the classroom with confidence and feel inspired to learn.

Our partner Flagship Pioneering continues to set the bar high for what meaningful community engagement can look like. We're honored to play a role in connecting their people with a variety of missions across our nonprofit network - and their impact just keeps growing. Reach out to us if you want to learn more about how you or your company can get involved with the 42 amazing organizations Life Science Cares Boston supports.
Flagship is a testament to what collective action can achieve — and our 25th Anniversary sock drive was one more example. Together, our ecosystem collected more than 2,000 pairs of socks for the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, one of the most requested items from the patients they serve. These socks will be distributed through over 30 shelter-based clinics where BHCHP works. A big thank you to everyone across the ecosystem who contributed, and to our partner Life Science Cares Boston for making this possible.

It’s been a busy fall season for our partners at Trinity Life Sciences! Not only do they help fund the grants that power our nonprofit partners, but they also roll up their sleeves to give their time and talent directly to the community. Some of our favorite recent moments with Trinity include: -President & CEO (and longtime Life Science Cares supporter!) Leslie Orne and team joining our ED, Rosie Cunningham, at HEALTHY WALTHAM’s outdoor food pantry for a day of community and fresh air -Getting creative and building educational kits for students supported through STEAM Ahead -Organizing and packing clothes for local children in need at Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts Thank you, Trinity, for cultivating a culture that exemplifies collaboration and community!

💔 Did you know more than 1 in 3 Massachusetts children 12 and under live in low-income or homeless situations? Many don’t have shoes that fit, a coat to keep warm, or a backpack to carry supplies. Without these basics, kids avoid school, struggle to focus in class, and miss out on outdoor activities. November 12 is Life Science Industry Day, a day dedicated to our industry giving back, and we’re teaming up with Cradles to Crayons to pack and organize clothing for local children. This is where YOU come in — we need 30 volunteers to join us in Newtonville and support our community. These spots go FAST, so sign up now and show local kids you care. 👉 Learn more and sign up to volunteer: https://lnkd.in/exDB7sun

🌱 Partner Spotlight: Urban Farming Institute of Boston (UFI) Casiddy McNeely of the Dorchester Reporter recently spent a day working the land with our partners at UFI. There, she met David and Rasheen, two young men taking part in UFI’s six-week Garden Bugs program. For David, who grew up moving between group homes and shared that he “had a lot of anger issues,” UFI has become a refuge. “This is one of the first summers where I’ve actually felt grounded,” said David. “This [garden] is one of the places that makes you forget where you are. It makes you feel safe.” Meet David and learn more about UFI’s impactful work: https://lnkd.in/eqNabVbq
