Meet Dr. Khyati Mehta, director of the Pediatric GI Lab at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital 👩⚕️ For Dr. Mehta, medicine has always been about purpose. During her medical school rotations, she discovered that her energy and joy came from working with children, walking alongside them and their families through some of the most difficult parts of their health journeys. That realization shaped her calling in pediatrics and ultimately led her to specialize in pediatric gastroenterology, a field that blends critical thinking, innovation, and hands-on procedural care. Today, she leads one of the region’s busiest pediatric GI labs, a collaborative environment where physicians, nurses, technicians, dietitians, and social workers work together to help children with a range of gastrointestinal conditions heal and thrive.
