The news of the federal government shutdown creates uncertainty for many communities. Today, Los Angeles Education Partnership is proud to have our own Liza Xet Smith, EdD speaking with Telemundo 52 to discuss this critical issue. Liza will explain that while the immediate effects may not include a loss of service, the shutdown could significantly impact communities and essential programs later on—particularly concerning payment delays and the security of future funding for vital services. We're thrilled to share some hot shots from our continued Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at our LAEP Community School, Harrison Elementary in Pomona! A huge shout-out and well-deserved kudos to Samira Galván, Julianna Morales, and Alejandra Portillo, M.Ed. for their incredible work. The energy, culture, and community spirit they brought to the students were truly beautiful and clearly made for a great time. Thank you Community Schools team, for constantly going above and beyond to uplift the communities we serve.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, Los Angeles Education Partnership is proud to be out in the community, celebrating the vibrant cultures and powerful legacies that are at the heart of our work. We’re honored to have our team leading these celebrations: Today: We’re at Ford Blvd. Elementary’s Latino Heritage Month Community event. This Saturday: Find our Early Head Start team tabling at the City of Inglewood’s free Hispanic Heritage Festival, where they’ll be enrolling eligible parents for our no-cost services. September 26th, our amazing team is also organizing special events at our partner schools. Our own Samira Galvan is hosting a fun activity at Harrison Elementary in Pomona, where our very own Alejandra Portillo’s folklorico group will also perform!
