✈️ The Pittsburgh International Airport is more than just a travel hub, and it could soon see the creation of 1,000 jobs with the addition of a large plant manufacturing linear generators for California-based Mainspring Energy.
⚒️The facility, located next to the airport, would create 𝟑𝟎𝟎 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬 and 𝟔𝟎𝟎+ 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬. Promised federal funding has been delayed under the Trump administration, postponing groundbreaking.
🚗🚙The 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 visited Pittsburgh to hear directly from Mainspring Energy, Pittsburgh International Airport and Allegheny Conference on Community Development about competing for these type of high-impact projects.
📈PA benefits from the 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐱 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 and the creation of the 𝐏𝐀 𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, which prepares former industrial sites for new industry. Southwest PA also has a skilled workforce and strong infrastructure.
📢The airport's 8,800-acre campus has the potential for even more job creation. Its 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐨 𝟒 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 has allowed it to 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞, because of its ability for fast turnaround. It is also focused on energy options, with a 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐲 and its own 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝 to weather potential energy blackouts. It's also planning to create 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥 to meet expected demand.
⏭️While PA's permitting has improved, even faster approvals could land greater investments - and 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐛 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - in PA. Read more in the link below👇
