Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region visited the Shiitake Mushroom Production and Training Centre, Upper Shillong, on 1st November 2025. He was warmly received by the Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture, Government of Meghalaya, Shri Timothy D. Shira, the Hon’ble State Health Minister, Shri Wailad Shylla, and other senior officials of the State Government. During the visit, the Hon’ble Union Minister inspected the machinery imported from Japan for the production of Shiitake mushroom blocks and appreciated the Centre’s successful adaptation of Japanese technology. #MDoNERIndia

The India International Center, New Delhi, and the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on a series of cultural programmes showcasing the art, culture, and heritage of India’s North Eastern Region. The partnership aims to strengthen socio-cultural understanding and promote contemporary artistic expression from the 08 North Eastern states through a regular schedule of events at the IIC. #MDoNERIndia

The Central Sector scheme named PM-DevINE is fully funded by the Government of India and was announced in the Union Budget 2022-23. The scheme envisages funding infrastructure, in the spirit of PM GatiShakti, supporting social development projects based on felt needs of the North-East, generating livelihood opportunities for youth and women, and filling the gaps in various sectors. #MDoNERIndia #PMDevINE

A Mid year Review meeting on 10% Gross Budgetary Support (GBS) mechanism held under the Chairmanship of Sh. Sukanta Majumdar, Hon’ble MoS in Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region at New Delhi. Performance of 55 non- exempted Ministries under 10% GBS mechanism till 2nd quarter of FY 2025-26 and future plan of action I.e. surrender and savings amounts was discussed. Hon'ble MoS urged regular internal monthly review to sort out emergent issues with the North Eastern States.
