From Civica’s earliest days, Erin Asprec has been a steady force behind our mission to eliminate drug shortages. As Executive Vice President and COO of Memorial Hermann Health System, she knows what it takes to lead large, complex organizations, and she brings that operational expertise to her role on Civica’s Board of Directors and Audit & Compliance Committee. Erin’s commitment runs deep. At Memorial Hermann, she has championed sustainable solutions to ensure patients aren’t harmed by drug shortages, aligning the entire health system around reliable access to essential medicines. Her leadership has helped make Memorial Hermann one of Civica’s strongest partners. • Meet Lalita, a nurse at TIRR Memorial Hermann whose ongoing commitment to improve the lives of others in rehabilitation nursing has been honored with a silver medal by the Good Samaritan Foundation Excellence in Nursing Awards for 2025. Growing up in a military family, the expectation was that Lalita would pursue a degree in engineering, but her heart was set on helping people and making a difference. So with encouragement from a school counselor, she pursued nursing school and landed a scholarship to Prairie View A&M University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. After a 40-year nursing career, Lalita says her fundamental desire to make a difference in the lives of others has evolved to include not only the patients under her care, but other rehabilitation nurses and the rehabilitation nursing specialty as a whole. In addition to earning a master’s degree in nursing, she is actively involved with the Association of Rehabilitation Nursing (ARN), serving as president of the local southeast chapter, and has been elected to the national board of directors all while mentoring nurses through the TIRR Memorial Hermann Rising Star Leadership Development Program. "Mentoring nurses and sharing professional knowledge became an avenue for me to support rehabilitation nursing and enhance patient outcomes, along with advocacy in health policy to encourage nurses to influence and advocate for our profession," she says. “Starting out as a pediatric charge nurse at TIRR Memorial Hermann, I grew to love rehabilitation nursing because the specialty allows nurses more time to build trusting relationships with patients and observe the impact of nursing interventions and patient education on patient outcomes," she says. "Throughout my career with TIRR Memorial Hermann, I’ve been influenced by leaders, nurses and physicians and I am grateful for this collective influence. The work culture is a family atmosphere and it’s what has kept me coming back for over 30 years.” Congratulations on a well-deserved award, Lalita, and thanks for your 30 years of service with TIRR Memorial Hermann!

This achievement reflects the extraordinary talent, dedication and compassion of our entire Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital team. However, our true measure of success lies in the lives we impact each day. It is an honor to care for every family who trusts us with their children. • Meet Brian, one of the founding members of the rapid response team at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital and Silver Medal winner of the 2025 Good Samaritan Nursing Excellence Awards. Rapid response has been an interest of his since he was a new graduate nurse because he wanted to be prepared for any situation. His experience working in the cath lab and emergency department made it possible to form the rapid response team at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. “My dream was to figure out how to support patient care and outcomes for the entire hospital, not just in emergencies," he says. As the rapid response team grew, Brian developed a process for the team to scan through patient vitals to anticipate any issues, assess the patient and follow up with the physician to prevent codes, decrease the length of stay for patients and provide on-the-spot education to bedside nurses. “Everyone has different levels of nursing experience, so education through small huddles, one-to-one conversations or sharing a case study with a small group gives everyone the opportunity to ask questions and elevate their practice in an open and supportive environment," he says. Due to the success of the project, including the reduction of the length of stay among other critical hospital quality measures, Brian was invited to present his project at the 2024 ANCC Magnet® conference. “One of the reasons I am where I am today is because of great leadership. My leaders are highly supportive of me professionally and personally. They ask what I need to be successful and give me the opportunity to keep growing.” Congratulations Brian and thank you for eleven years of service with Memorial Hermann!
